Silent Hill: Townfall NSO Symbol Puzzle: Console Solution

Solve the SWDP - Different command console in Townfall: every NSO symbol position with IDs 254, 103, 246, 781 and 592, locker 0825 and the D71 clamp release.

Quick answer

At the SWDP - Different command console, repeat what the typewriter says NSO did. Enter a command symbol, an equipment symbol, then the equipment ID from the camera screen: Valve B 254, Filter A 103, Aux Line B 246 (after the AUX Room switches), Regulator 781 and Valve F door 592. Then open Valve F by hand and release the clamps using row D, D71.

How the console works

The typewriter prints what the National Security Office did, one step at a time. Each input is two symbols from the grid, a command (what to do, such as play or stop) then a piece of equipment (what to do it to, such as a door or gauge), followed by that equipment’s three-digit ID. If the console rejects an input, check the order: command first, equipment second. The IDs are painted in rooms you view through the camera screen to the left of the console; zoom in to read them. Grid positions below count columns from the left and rows from the top.

Every console input

Hardcore Gamer and GameRant give the same symbol positions and IDs. The symbol descriptions in brackets are from Hardcore Gamer; for the first step it gives only positions, so count from the top-left corner. GameRant’s heading for the regulator step reads 178, but its own text and every other walkthrough give 781.

The AUX Room detour before Aux Line B

Aux Line B will not flush until the auxiliary lines are set. Open the locker to the right of the console with 0825 and take the AUX Key. Ride the elevator to the AUX Room, load the disk into its computer and set the three switch groups until all three lights turn green. Then return and enter the Aux Line B input.

Open Valve F and release the clamps

After unlocking the Valve F door, go downstairs to the bottom-left corner of the map and turn Valve F by hand. Next, take the printed clamp release procedure from the printer and go to the control panel opposite the camera screen. Toggle the report switches to match row D of the Clamp Letter ID configuration, D71, following the black arrows from Start on the printout.

Common questions

What is the locker code near the console?

0825. It holds the AUX Key for the AUX Room.

Is the regulator ID 781 or 178?

781. The 178 in one GameRant heading is a transposition; its body text and other walkthroughs read 781.
