Silent Hill: Townfall IV Bag: Equip, Refill and HUD Icon

Combine an Empty IV Bag with IV Fluid, equip the filled bag and check the HUD icon. Learn what happens after a revive and which blood bags belong to a puzzle.

Quick answer

Combine an Empty IV Bag with IV Fluid in your inventory, then equip the filled bag. The bag icon beside the health display shows that one is equipped. It can revive Simon after lethal damage with a little health restored; the fluid is consumed. After using it, prepare and equip another filled bag. An empty bag alone is not ready to use.

How to prepare and equip the bag

Townfall’s IV Fluid tutorial explains the recipe, the equip step and the lower-left indicator. We checked the launch-game tutorial screenshot in Vandal’s walkthrough; TechRadar’s independent review also describes the combination and automatic revive.

  • Check your inventory for both an Empty IV Bag and IV Fluid.
  • Use the item-combination option to make the filled bag.
  • Select the resulting filled bag and equip it; combining the ingredients is only the preparation step.
  • Return to the game and check for the bag symbol beside your health display.

What is the icon beside the health bar?

It represents the equipped IV bag, not the CRTV. September 26 players independently asked about the unfamiliar icon and about an unavailable equip option. Replies point to the same check: look beside the health display to see whether a bag is already equipped.

If you cannot equip another, first check that icon and the item name in your inventory. Distinguish an empty ingredient from a filled bag, and check whether you already have one active before assuming the control is broken.

After the revive has been used

The tutorial says the fluid is consumed and the bag empties when Simon revives. Prepare a replacement from an empty bag and fluid, then equip it again. The revive restores only some health, so reassess the encounter and your escape route before returning to danger.

This guide covers the basic IV bag in the launch build. It does not establish protection from every scripted death or a universal amount of restored health.

Does using the cannula affect an ending?

New community reverse-engineering reports include cannula refills among possible ending-score factors. We have not reproduced their formula across builds. If you are comparing ending attempts, retain a separate save and record your refill count along with the complete Results screen.

Looking for the hospital blood bags instead?

The named blood bags used in the Medical Centre transfusion puzzle serve a different task. Follow that puzzle’s collection and placement route rather than trying to use its items as Simon’s revival equipment.

Common questions

Why can’t I equip an Empty IV Bag?

It is an ingredient. Combine it with IV Fluid first, then equip the filled bag. Also check the HUD in case a bag is already equipped.

Does one filled IV bag provide unlimited revives?

No. Its fluid is consumed when it revives Simon. Check the indicator and prepare another filled bag afterward.

Is the bag icon a CRTV battery indicator?

No. The IV tutorial identifies the lower-left indicator as the equipped bag status.
